Assistant Professor at Brigham Young UniversityJulie Valentine MS, RN, CNE, SANE-A, is an Assistant Professor at Brigham Young University College of Nursing. Her clinical specialty and research focus area is forensic nursing. Julie is a certified sexual assault nurse examiner with Salt Lake Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners and Primary Children’s Medical Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also a full-time PhD in Nursing student at Duquesne University. Julie is engaged in a collaborative research project with the Utah state crime laboratory exploring the impact of new DNA testing methods in sexual assault cases, and a collaborative study developing a law enforcement training program for sexual assault cases with the State of Utah Attorney General’s office.
